ABOUT THE PIECE
The Faces We Carry
CreatedAugust 23, 2024
MediumGraphite on archival paper
How many selves exist within one person? This abstract piece imagines identity as something layered rather than fixed. Three faces appear together, not as separate individuals, but as different fragments of thought, emotion, and personality sharing the same space.
The sharp geometric forms and simplified expressions leave room for interpretation. Are they different versions of one person? Different memories? Or the contrast between who we are, who we appear to be, and who we are still becoming?
Rather than offering an answer, the drawing invites the viewer to look inward and question the invisible parts of themselves that are rarely seen.
