Problem: Myanmar's e-commerce landscape was fragmented, lacking a unified platform that catered to both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) needs, hindering holistic digital economic growth.
Solution: I developed a groundbreaking digital marketing strategy, presented as a mock-up plan, to launch Alibaba Myanmar as the nation's first "integrated B2B2C e-commerce ecosystem". This involved merging Shop.com.mm’s established B2C platform with Alibaba’s cross-border B2B marketplace under a single, synergistic brand. The plan emphasizes leveraging Alibaba's global technological prowess with localized strategies tailored to Myanmar's unique market dynamics.
Results: This strategic unification is projected to capture a dominant 50% market share of Myanmar's e-commerce Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) by 2030, fostering inclusive growth by empowering both consumers and businesses. This comprehensive strategy also outlines a phased merger of Shop.com.mm and Alibaba Myanmar by 2030 to achieve this vision.
